Cat MacLean to join BTO as partner

Prominent litigator and qualified mediator Cat (Catriona) MacLean is to join BTO solicitors as a partner in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team in Edinburgh, from 14 November 2022.

Ms MacLean practised at the bar for 10 years before joining MBM Commercial, where she led the Dispute Resolution team, gaining particular experience in financial disputes and banking litigation work.

Grant Hunter, head of BTO’s Dispute Resolution team, commented: "We are very pleased that Cat is joining BTO. She has built an outstanding reputation as a strong and determined commercial litigator across a number of sectors, with particular specialisms in pursuing financial and negligence claims. Her appointment will certainly enhance BTO’s prominent position in the Scottish dispute resolution market."
