Catherine Smith appointed to Civil Justice Council
Advocate Catherine Smith has been appointed as a new member of the Scottish Civil Justice Council, filling one of the two advocate places on the Council.
Ms Smith specialises in personal injury, judicial review and clinical negligence cases, with additional experience in criminal law. She holds a strong commitment to pro bono work and has diverse experience both within and beyond the law.
The appointment was made by the Lord President following an open recruitment exercise in consultation with the Dean of Faculty.
