Clyde & Co and BLM confirm merger
Legal firms Clyde & Co and BLM have confirmed their proposed merger, following votes by their respective partnerships.
Operating as Clyde & Co, the combined firm will have a total headcount of more than 5,000, including 2,600 lawyers, with offices in 60 cities globally. Its turnover of around £735m would make it the 12th largest in the UK. In Scotland, Clyde operates in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, and BLM in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Clyde & Co currently has 440 equity partners, and BLM 50. Both have particular strength in the insurance sector.
Merger talks are reported to have been taking place since 2020.
