CMS makes of counsel appointment

CMS has appointed Julie Devlin as an of counsel in the firm’s Finance Practice Group.

Ms Devlin, who will be based in Glasgow, joins from Dentons. She is experienced in the specialist area of regulated credit and hire, and will bolster CMS’s financial services and retail banking offering in Scotland. She began her career in 1991 as a trainee at Thompsons, before moving to McClure Naismith where she spent 21 years working in its Consumer Finance team.

She has more than 25 years’ experience acting for financial services clients in relation to consumer finance advisory matters.  Her regulated credit and hire specialism involves her in providing clients with FCA perimeter guidance and drafting contract documents for regulated credit and hire products. Julie has also been involved, throughout her career, in contentious consumer finance litigation on behalf of clients, appearing in courts throughout Scotland.”
