Courts to be hit by industrial action on 1 February
Court and tribunal buildings in Scotland will be open on Wednesday 1 February, but industrial action by members of the PCS Union will lead to some disruption of scheduled business, public counter and telephone services, Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service has announced.
The action is part of a UK wide dispute relating to pay, pensions, jobs and redundancy terms in the UK Civil Service and related public sector areas.
SCTS aims to maintain essential services and priority business so far as possible. Those due to attend a court or tribunal on 1 February should do so unless contacted directly and advised not to attend. Most fines can still be paid online or by post.
The Office of the Public Guardian will be similarly affected.
Full service will recommence from Thursday 2 February.
