Courts to stay open in all Covid levels
Scotland’s courts and tribunals will remain open for business under all five levels of the new Scottish Government Covid pretection levels, as the delivery of justice is regarded as “essential” under the new regulations.
Anyone required to travel to attend a court or tribunal hearing, including the accused, witnesses and jurors should continue to do so. Remote jury centres will continue to operate as the regulations make an explicit exception for the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service to use premises such as cinemas.
The new protection levels will come into force across Scotland from Monday.
