Director appointment at Inverness firm
Laura Cormack has been named a director of Inverness legal firm Innes & Mackay has appointed Laura Cormack as a director.
Ms Cormack first joined the firm in 2010 as a legal secretary. She soon embarked on legal studies, completing her paralegal qualification and then Law Society of Scotland exams on the path to becoming a solicitor.
Completing her training last year, the firm says she "quickly displayed the qualities required to make the step up to being appointed a director".
Ms Cormack commented: "I've always been just as interested in the way the firm is run as I have in providing high quality legal services to our clients. I'm looking forward to working with the team to build on our solid reputation, expanding our reach across the Highlands while maintaining the high quality of legal advice our clients have come to expect."
She added: "I didn’t go to university, so at times in my career it has been quite difficult to juggle studying with a full time job. Studying to become a solicitor with the Law Society involves a great deal of self-guided work – there are no lectures or tutorials – so it taught me an even greater level of discipline in managing my time."
