Fiona Muirs to head Dispute Resolution at Blackadders
Dispute resolution specialist Fiona Muirs has joined Blackadders as a partner and head of the legal firm's Dispute Resolution team.
Based in Blackadders’ Edinburgh office, Ms Muirs was previously a partner at Balfour+Manson, and has spent 25 years working in dispute resolution since qualifying as a solicitor. She became a solicitor advocate in 2009, and has litigated at every level up to the UK Supreme Court, while also representing clients in non-litigious processes such as mediation.
Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Regulation of Professional Conduct, Ms Muirs is also a committee member of the Association of Regulatory & Disciplinary Lawyers, and a legally qualified chair member of the Scottish Social Services Council Fitness to Practise Panel.
At Blackadders she takes over as head of Dispute Resolution from joint managing partner Ryan McKay, who will concentrate on managing the firm with joint managing partner Emma Gray.
Mr McKay commented: “This is an exciting appointment for Blackadders. We are delighted to be able to bring a partner with the quality and experience of Fiona to the firm. She will be a real asset to the team and we look forward to working together to build on the success of our Dispute Resolution team.
“Blackadders is a home for talented and ambitious people and Fiona will be a great fit for the firm.”
