Freeths launches in Scotland with twin partner hire
National law firm Freeths is expanding into Scotland, hiring two partners as it opens an office in Glasgow, its first base outside England.
Partners Paul Ockrim and Nick Taylor join from Addleshaw Goddard in the firm's new office at Atlantic Quay, Robertson Street, with plans to establish a full service offering.
Mr Ockrim specialises in all areas of commercial real estate; Mr Taylor focuses on investment and development finance.
The Glasgow site will be Freeths' 13th office in the UK. Last year the firm achieved revenue of £129m, up by 15% on the year and 220% on its 2014 figure of £40.2m, said to be all through organic growth.
National managing partner Karl Jansen commented: "As a firm, we have ambitious plans for further growth in the coming years. Scotland is an important part of the UK’s economy and therefore integral to our core strategy.
"There is real opportunity for us to build our business in Scotland, delivering an innovative and progressive service for clients in the region. Aligned with our culture and values, both Paul and Nick bring a skillset that will add more breadth and depth to our national offering."
