Glasgow cinema jury trials begin next week
Trials at the High Court in Glasgow will begin on Tuesday 13 October, with juries located at the new remote jury centre in the cinema complex at the Braehead Centre in Renfrewshire.
There will be 11 jury rooms, with each able to host 15 socially distanced jurors while offering secure connections to the courtroom where the cases are heard.
Edinburgh’s centre has been operating since 29 September, accommodating five juries supporting courts in Lothian.
The model will be rolled out to allow sheriff and jury trials, suspended since the COVID-19 lockdown, to recommence in November.
