IBA stages two open-access Scottish focused events
Two events focused on Scotland will take place tomorrow (13 November) at the International Bar Association's Virtually Together conference, and both are free, open access events for which those interested can register.
From 6pm GMT, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be in conversation with Mark Ellis, IBA executive director: registration is at this link.
Immediately before that, from 5pm, the Scottish Arbitration Centre will present "Scotland as a Dispute Resolution Jurisdiction". Ahead of the next International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Congress, now scheduled for September 2021 in Edinburgh, speakers will discuss dispute resolution in Scotland, including the court's approach to arbitration and mediation, and share expertise on operating in this and other jurisdictions.
Taking part are Lord Carloway, Lord President of the Court of Session, Lucy Reed, President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration, Brandon Malone, chairman of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, and as moderator, Andrew Mackenzie, the Centre's chief executive. Registration is at this link.
