ICCA Edinburgh Congress postponed due to coronavirus
The global arbitration conference due to take place in Edinburgh in May will not go ahead, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers have announced.
ICCA (the International Council for Commercial Arbitration) and the Scottish Arbitration Centre, the ICCA 2020 Congress host, said that while they were heartened to see how many of delegstes had maintained their registrations, "our priority must be protecting the health of all those attending".
The two bodies are working to identify the best alternative dates for a rescheduled congress in Edinburgh in 2020 or 2021. Registered delegates will be automatically transferred to the rescheduled congress; registrations can be transferred or refunded if they are unable to attend. The revised policy will be sent to delegates when the dates for the rescheduled congress are announced.
The organisers added: "Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the ICCA Congress in Edinburgh so far. Your support and dedication is incredibly valuable, and we look forward to seeing all our efforts come to fruition. We are delighted that our programme co-chairs and committee have agreed to stay on and continue their work to make this ICCA’s best-ever congress."
