Lawscot Foundation launches 2023 Baublefest campaign
The Lawscot Foundation has launched its annual Baublefest Christmas fundraising campaign, more than doubling its fundraising target to £5,500.
For the first time the Foundation is inviting law firms across Scotland to set up their own Baublefest trees to gather donations, with the aim of creating a festive forest.
Donors can purchase a bauble for the Baublefest tree in the Law Society of Scotland’s office, as well as inviting their colleagues, friends and family members to decorate and sponsor their firm’s own fundraising tree.
Pinsent Masons has become Baublefest’s first corporate partner, with a £500 donation, and will also have a Baublefest tree. The festive forest will also include trees from Morton Fraser MacRoberts and Brodies.
Ally Thomson, chair of the Lawscot Foundation’s Fundraising Committee, commented: “Baublefest is an important event in our fundraising calendar and this year we’re aiming to spread the festive spirit further by inviting firms across Scotland to get involved with their own trees.
“Any donation, big or small, will make a difference for the less-advantaged Scots law students we support. Our fundraising target aims to cover the bursary payments for two Lawscot Foundation students over the coming year.”
Law Society of Scotland President Sheila Webster added: “Baublefest is one of the highlights of the festive season and I’m proud to have sponsored the first bauble this year. It’s a great opportunity for the legal sector to step up and support these talented young people, so please do get involved.”
Baublefest will run until 22 December 2023, with the Foundation inviting supporters to drop in and donate at the Society’s offices at Atria One on 6 and 12 December 2023 from 2pm to 5pm. Refreshments including mince pies will be available, along with the opportunity to have a photograph taken with your sponsored bauble.
