Legal directors head Blackadders promotions
Legal firm Blackadders LLP has announced a total of six promotions in its Aberdeen, Dundee and Glasgow offices, with immediate effect.
John Dargie and Hazel Anderson both step up to legal director. Mr Dargie, based in Aberdeen, joined the firm in 2013 and was promoted to associate just last year. A member of the Private Client team, he has extensive experience of complex succession planning matters as well as an interest in incapacity law.
Ms Anderson, an associate in the Dundee Rural Land & Business team, has built up considerable experience in rural property matters since qualifying in 2009, advising clients on acquisition, disposal and leasing of agricultural property and estates, as well as on refinancing and security work.
Also in Dundee, Lucy Smith, an experienced residential conveyancer, rises to associate in the Residential Property team. The other new associate is Jacqueline Tainsh, of the Private Client team in Glasgow, who specialises in working with the elderly, adults with incapacity and care cost planning.
Moving up from solicitor to senior solicitor is Azeem Arshad in Glasgow’s Commercial Property team, who has particular experience in commercial leasing, acting for the tenant including major international retailers and leisure operators.
In addition, Fiona James, a trainee in the Aberdeen Rural Land & Business team who qualified as a solicitor on 12 May, has been retained in the team.
Blackadders’ IT director, Kevin Moran, has also been promoted to chief information officer.
Managing partner Johnston Clark commented: "It gives me great pleasure to announce these new appointments. The firm is committed to investing in good people and we want to attract, retain and develop high calibre individuals, particularly during these extraordinary times. We believe that by having the best people in our firm, we can further build on future opportunities as they arise. I congratulate them and wish them every success in their new positions."
