Macfadyen Lecture now to be given online
The 2020 Macfadyen Lecture, to be given by Judge Tim Eicke of the European Court of Human Rights, will now be delivered online, the Scottish Council for Law Reporting has announced.
Rescheduled from March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers have accepted that it will still not be possible for the lecture to be given in the usual format, and the 2020 lecture will now be delivered, from Strasbourg, as a shortened online lecture at 6pm on Thursday 5 November. There will be an opportunity for Q&A afterwards.
Titled "Climate Change and the Convention", the full text of the lecture will be published on the Council's website as soon as achievable after the lecture has been given.
The Council regrets that it is unable to hold the lecture in its usual format this year, but hopes that the 2021 lecture, by Chief Justice Nathan Hecht of the Supreme Court of Texas, may be able to take place as normal.
