Macpherson named as Court of Session Auditor
Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service has appointed Robin Macpherson WS as Auditor of the Court of Session, following an open recruitment process.
Mr Macpherson, who previously held the role as temporary auditor, will take up his appointment on 1 April 2022. He will also be appointed Auditor of the All Scotland Personal Injury Court and the Sheriff Appeal Court, effective from the same date.
As such he will assume responsibility as "head of profession" for all sheriff court auditors, providing leadership and guidance on the role of a court auditor.
An experienced litigator and solicitor advocate, Mr Macpherson was a litigation partner in Robson McLean WS and Brodies for more than 26 years and has overseen the role as temporary auditor for the last two years.
Kay McCorquodale, executive director of the Judicial Office commented: "We are delighted that, following his period as temporary auditor, Robin was keen to continue the role and seek appointment as auditor. Robin’s previous experience in this role will ensure that he is able to hit the ground running and look to build on some of the changes he has already made to modernise the office."
