Marieke Dwarshuis appointed OSCR chair
Marieke Dwarshuis has been appointed chair of the Scottish Charity Regulator OSCR, from 15 October 2022.
Ms Dwarshuis graduated in law from Utrecht University in The Netherlands, but for nearly 30 years has made her career in Scotland in a variety of roles in the public and voluntary sector. Beginning at Citizens Advice Scotland, she has been director of Consumer Focus Scotland, and a member of the senior management team that established the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. She has held positions in the Scottish Government, and prior to that was depute director at Shelter Scotland.
As a non-executive director she has served the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service for more than eight years, Food Standards Scotland for six years, and currently sits on the board of the Scottish Housing Regulator, NHS24 and the Scottish Legal Aid Board. In a voluntary capacity she has served on the board of Hillcrest Housing Association.
Her appointment, for a four year term until 14 October 2026, attracts a remuneration of £285 per day for a time commitment of up to five days per month.
