Property moves allowed from 29 June as lockdown eases
Restrictions on house moves in Scotland will be relaxed from Monday 29 June.
The lifting of controls on all but essential house moves was announced yesterday as part of the phase 2 of the easing of the coronavirus lockdown, announced by the Scottish Government.
What exactly is permitted will depend on amending regulations to be made in advance of the date, along with revised guidance, but it is expected to include activities such as visiting estate or letting agents, viewing properties or show homes, and preparing a property for sale or let, or to move into, as well as the actual move.
Registers of Scotland will not immediately reopen for physical transactions. Registers said it was continuing to consult with the Law Society of Scotland to agree when the application record would be declared officially reopened.
"RoS buildings will remain closed after 29 June but we will continue to deliver a range of services to support customers and enable property transactions to take place", it added.
Digital facilities have been introduced to replace the physical paper application submissions process.
