Ruth Davidson to join the House of Lords
Ruth Davidson, the former Scottish Conservative leader, will join the House of Lords tomorrow under the title Baroness Davidson of Lundin Links.
Her title comes from the village in Fife where she grew up and where her parents still live, the party said.
Ms Davidson, 42, served as an MSP from 2011 to 2021.
She said her role would involve "making sure all UK-wide laws are fit for purpose" and that her areas of particular interest included gambling reform, end of life choices, and "reforming the House of Lords into a democratic chamber".
