SCTS caveat portal goes live on Monday

The new caveat portal developed by Scottish Courts & Tribunals Service will go live next Monday, 25 July 2022. 

Covering both Court of Session and sheriff court caveats, the portal requires solicitors to complete an online form. There is no requirement to upload any documents. The login process is different from Civil Online. Users will have the option to submit the same form to multiple courts.

Solicitors already registered for the new portal will receive an email in advance of the go live date to activate their account. Others can register by emailing civilonlinelab@scotcourts.gov.uk with their name, email address, solicitor firm and firm address; and the payment account to which caveat payment will be charged. At present the service is only available to solicitors who have a credit account with SCTS.

This is a new service separate from Civil Online and requires fresh registration in order to obtain access.
