Second "Excellence in Advocacy" event to be held in November
The second Lord Jones Excellence in Advocacy event will be held on Friday 15 November, the Faculty of Advocates has announced.
It commemorates the late Lord Jones, the judge who died in 2016 after suffering a haemorrhagic stroke. While at the bar he was renowned for his advocacy skills, and with John Sturrock QC pioneered the Faculty's training programme.
Speakers at the event will include Mark Mulholland QC, former chair of the Bar of Northern Ireland and current vice chair of the Hong Kong-based International Advocacy Training Council. He is also external assessor for the Faculty’s quality assurance programme.
He will be joined by Kenneth Campbell QC, and John Sturrock QC.
A moot competition for the Mike Jones Excellence in Advocacy Prize will feature this year’s devils.
Faculty extends an open invitation to the event, which begins at 4pm in Parliament House. Click here to register.
