SEMLA committee members offer career support
SEMLA, the Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyers' Association, has launched a new project to offer career advice or other support to lawyers and law students from SEMLA committee members.
The "Connect with SEMLA" scheme will be backed up by a series of videos in which individual committee members describe their backgrounds and interests, which range across a variety of legal disciplines along with work in large law firms, Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service, in-house positions and the bar. One video will be posted each day this week by committee members Usman Tariq, Naeema Sajid, Omar Ali, Sheekha Saha and Imran Bashir.
Committee members are offering confidential one-to-one advice via phone or video link, which can be set up by email request.
"As everyone adapts to new ways of working, SEMLA wants to connect with you on a more personal level", SEMLA said. "Social distance does not mean social isolation."
Connect with the videos as they are posted through @SEMLAlaw.
