Senior associate joins Harper Macleod's Highland team
Harper Macleod has recruited corporate lawyer Peter McLuckie as a senior associate in its Elgin office.
Mr McLuckie has specialist knowledge of the food and drink sector, having worked for more than nine years at Baxters Food Group, where he was latterly legal and compliance director. He most recently practised at Inverness firm Munro & Noble. He has a Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, awarded by the International Compliance Association in collaboration with Manchester Business School, is also deputy secretary to the Highland & Western Isles Joint Valuation Appeal Panel, and was previously a legal assessor with Fitness to Practice Panels of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. He sits on the board of an Inverness-based housing charity.
He is the first major recruit to Harper Macleod's Elgin office, set up through the firm's acquisition of local practice Wink & Mackenzie.
Chris Kerr, lead partner of Harper Macleod's Highlands & Islands operation, commented: "Bringing in someone of Peter's calibre is a great boost to our burgeoning practice in Moray. When we moved to the area in September we made it clear that we were committed to extending the full Harper Macleod offering of commercial, rural and personal legal services to clients in Moray, and were also committed to growing our team on the ground.
"We're delighted that he has chosen to join us and be part of what we are building. He will be a great asset for the firm and the many clients we advise in Moray and beyond."
