Seven more summary sheriffs appointed
Seven new summary sheriffs have been named, to places in four of Scotland's six sheriffdoms.
Six solicitors and one advocate, Charles Lugton, were appointed by the Queen on the recommendation of the First Minister, following a report by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
Two join the bench in the Sheriffdom of Glasgow & Strathkelvin, sitting at Glasgow Sheriff Court: Patricia Pryce and Charles Lugton.
Roderick Flinn is appointed to the Sheriffdom of Lothian & Borders, sitting at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
In the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde, Sukhwinder Gill, Michael Higgins and Hugh McGinty will sit at Paisley Sheriff Court.
Colm Dempsey is appointed to the Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries & Galloway, sitting at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
All will take up office in November 2019.
