Shakespeare Martineau hires Edinburgh banking head
UK law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed a new partner to lead its banking practice in Scotland.
Grant Docherty joins from Rooney Nimmo, where he spent more than three years running the banking team. Before that he was a partner heading DWF’s Scottish banking practice for almost 13 years.
He brings a breadth of experience across all areas of banking, working for banks and financial institutions, corporate borrowers, real estate funds, and banking regulators. He will also help build up Shakespeare Martineau's presence in Scotland, which it moved into two years ago with the opening of its Edinburgh office.
Partner Amal Kaur commented: “We are delighted to welcome Grant to the firm as a new senior appointment in Scotland. He has a wealth of banking experience and will be a great asset to our growing team as we look to expand our offering north of border.”
