Sheriff Euan Duthie becomes Scottish Land Court chair
Sheriff C Euan Duthie KC has been appointed chair of the Scottish Land Court from 9 January 2023, following the retirement of Lord Minginish in December 2022.
Sheriff Duthie, who sat at Perth Sheriff Court, became an advocate in 2006 and a Queen's Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2019. He was appointed standing junior counsel to the Advocate General in 2012, before becoming a fee-paid judge of the First-tier Tribunal in 2014.
His appointment was made by the King on the nomination of the First Minister, following a recommendation of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
Ministers also appointed Sheriff Duthie as President of the Lands Tribunal for Scotland on the recommendation of the Lord President of the Court of Session.
