SLAB chair and five board members reappointed
Minister for Community Safety Ash Regan has announced the reappointments of the chair and five other members of the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
Ray Macfarlane will serve a further two years as chair, from 1 April 2022 until 31 March 2024. Sheriff John Morris QC, part time sheriff and retired solicitor advocate Raymond McMenamin, public sector consultant Brian Baverstock and former civil servant Stephen Humphreys have been reappointed as members for a further four years until 31 March 2026, while solicitor Lesley Ward will continue as a member for two years until 31 March 2024.
The chair is paid £336.68 per day for a time commitment of two days per week; members receive £238.92 per day for a time commitment of 3.5 days per month.
