SLAB extends interim payment system during COVID-19
The Scottish Legal Aid Board has further extended its arrangements for interim payment of solicitors' accounts during the COVID-19 emergency.
From 1 April interim payments can be submitted for advice and assistance (including ABWOR – assistance by way of representation), fixed payments and for summary accounts (non-fixed payments including summary appeals).
The Board is encouraging solicitors to use to the full, processes already in place for submission of interim payments. It is developing its systems to allow more frequent claims to be submitted and hopes the changes will be in place by May 2020.
