SLAB reappointments confirmed
Two members of the Scottish Legal Aid Board have had their appointments renewed or extended.
David Sheldon QC has been reappointed for a further four years, from 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2024. Called to the bar in 1998 and appointed a QC in 2013, his practice includes both civil and criminal work. He serves as an ad hoc advocate depute and is a trained mediator.
Rani Dhir, a senior housing professional and experienced non-executive director in the private, public and voluntary sectors, has had her term extended by the six months from 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021.

Neelam Bakshi has been reappointed as a lay member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland for the year to 31 July 2021. With a professional background including research and stakeholder engagement, human resources, coaching, recruitment and selection, equality and diversity, she is experienced in strategic, operational and governance roles and is currently a non-legal member of the Employment Tribunal and a disability qualified member of the First-tier Social Entitlement Chamber, as well as a public appointments adviser with the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
