SLCC welcomes ex-inspector of education to its board
Anne Gibson, a former HM inspector of education, will join the board of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission on 1 January 2023.
Ms Gibson who will serve a five year term, Anne Gibson has a professional background in education and community learning and development, and has worked in leadership roles across the public, private and third sectors. In addition to her inspector role, she has contributed to several ministerial working groups and led the national government initiative to develop schools and youth work partnerships.
She is a member of the General Teaching Council’s Education Panel, a lay member on the Joint Standing Committee for Legal Education in Scotland, a non-executive director on the board of NHS 24, and is currently employed on a part-time basis as head of practice for child contact centres with Relationships Scotland.
Welcoming the appointment, SLCC chair Jim Martin said: "Anne will join the board at a fascinating time for the SLCC, as we implement a new, post-Covid operating model and look forward to legislation to reform legal services regulation. As well as driving the strategic direction of the SLCC’s work, board members make decisions on individual complaints, making this a unique, varied, challenging and rewarding role. I welcome Anne to the SLCC, and the board and staff look forward to working with her on these issues over the coming years."
