Themis Advocates launches as rebranded Hastie Stable
A new name has appeared among the stables of the Faculty of Advocates with the launch of Themis Advocates.
The stable comprises advocates of the former Hastie Stable, whose senior clerk is now Kiera Johnston, following the departure of Susan Hastie after more than 25 years' service. Her depute clerks are Sara Mauriello and Liz Archibald.
In Greek mythology Themis was the Titaness of good counsel, offering balanced and pragmatic advice.
One of nine stables within Faculty, Themis currently has 12 Queen's Counsel, 24 juniors of more than seven years' experience at the bar and 10 juniors of less than seven years' experience, practising across most fields of law.
Ms Johnston commented: “The clerking team are very excited to be given the opportunity to relaunch ourselves as a contemporary stable with a new direction going into 2020 and beyond.”
