Thorntons' Sports Challenge Dinner returns after Covid

Thorntons’ Sports Challenge Dinner is to return after a three-year break as the business community across the city comes together to raise funds for charity.

The sports themed black-tie dinner will return to Apex City Quay Hotel on Thursday 18 May 2023. Teams will be tested on their sporting knowledge and observational skills in the Question of Sport style quiz hosted by sporting legends, Andy Nicol and Alan McInally, competing to become Sports Challenge champions – all while raising money for children’s charities.

Generous event supporters over the past six years have helped raise £200,000 for children’s charities across Scotland. Organisers hope to generate a further £50,000 this year, when the money raised will be split between The Archie Foundation and Childrens Aid Scotland.

Colin Graham of Thorntons said: “The Sports Challenge Dinner is one of our calendar highlights and to have it return following a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic makes the event even more special."
