Thorntons' Sports Challenge raises almost £59,000
Thorntons’ annual Sports Challenge Dinner in Dundee earlier this year raised £58,932 for charity, the legal firm has announced.
The money will be shared between Scottish children’s charities, Children’s Aid Scotland and The Yard, with a special donation of £10,000 going to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Each year the "Question of Sport" style event, organised by Thorntons Solicitors and Thorntons Investment Management Ltd, aims to raise thousands for charity and 2019 marks a record year for fundraising. This year’s special guest was Scottish Rugby Head Coach Gregor Townsend.
Colin Graham, Thorntons’ chairman, commented: “In the past six years that we’ve hosted this event, we’ve raised more than £200,000 for children’s charities across Scotland. Our 2019 event was a huge success once again with a premier presenting line-up and marks our biggest fundraising total from the event to date.
“A big thank you to everyone who attended and donated on the night. I trust the funds donated will make a great impact to our chosen charities.”
