Thorntons unveils biggest promotions round
Full service law firm Thorntons has announced its biggest round of promotions, naming four new partners among 25 people recognised across its east of Scotland and Glasgow locations.
The four new partners are Stuart Mackie and Stephanie Pratt from Wills, Trusts & Succession, Robin Beattie in Dispute Resolution & Claims, and Steven Drake from Residential Property.
There are eight new legal directors: Angela Wipat and Elaine Sym in the Family Law team; Anne Miller, and Michael Kemp from Dispute Resolution & Claims; Amy Jones and Kirsty Stewart in Business Law; Debbie Dewar from Land & Rural Business; and Graeme Dickson of Wills, Trusts & Succession.
Five new associates are Megan Maclean and Rachel Anderson from Wills, Trusts & Succession, and Neil McWilliam, Stephanie Gallacher and Victoria McLaren, all from the Business Law team.
Finally, eight are promoted to senior solicitor: Daniel McGinn, Jamie Lyons, Kirsty Waughman and Sarah Cooper from Dispute Resolution & Claims; Katie Hobkirk and Katy Williams in Business Law; and Rebecca Ellwood and Zoe Irving of Land & Rural Business.
The promotions all take effect from 1 July 2021. Fifteen of the 25 completed their traineeship with Thorntons.
