Two lawyers appointed to SLCC
Two lawyers have joined the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission to serve five year terms, the Scottish Government has announced.
Dale Hughes, advocate and Lynne Collingham, solicitor are now serving as legal members of the body that investigates and adjudicates on complaints of inadequate professional legal services.
A former solicitor, Mr Hughes has more than 25 years’ legal experience, particularly in criminal defence work, including a number of complex High Court appeals. He also sits on the ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland) Regulatory Committee, prosecutes for the General Medical Council and is a legal assessor for the General Teaching Council.
Ms Collingham, a partner at TC Young, Glasgow is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both family and child law. She has more than 30 years’ experience in private practice and has been a civil legal aid peer reviewer since 2006. She has a particular interest in dispute resolution and is a collaborative family lawyer and a member of Consensus Collaboration Scotland.
Mr Hughes’ appointment runs from 12 August 2022; Ms Collingham’s runs from 15 June 2022. Both appointments are part-time and attract a remuneration of £219.92 for a time commitment of two days per month.
