Two promoted to partner at Balfour+Manson
Legal firm Balfour+Manson has promoted two of its associates to partner, effective from 1 January 2021, taking the number of partners at the firm to 24.
Martin Walker, who joined the firm as a trainee in 2015 before becoming a solicitor in the Litigation team, and Private Client team specialist Graeme Thomson, who joined as a senior associate in 2018.
Prior to pursuing his law career, Mr Walker studied economics and social history and was head of Humanities in a large international school in the United Arab Emirates. He also has a Masters Level Certificate in Regulatory Law and Practice from the University of Aberdeen.
Mr Thomson, who qualified as a solicitor in 2003, gained work experience in Australia before returning to Edinburgh and pursuing a career in residential property and then private client work, becoming head of the Private Client team at Boyd Legal prior to joining Balfour+Manson. A member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), he is a recipient of its Worldwide Excellence Award.
