Two summary sheriffs are appointed
Two graduates of Dundee University have been named as summary sheriffs.
Jonathan Guy is appointed as summary sheriff to the Sheriffdom of Glasgow & Strathkelvin, sitting at Glasgow Sheriff Court, and Alison Michie becomes summary sheriff to the Sheriffdom of Tayside, Central & Fife, sitting at Stirling Sheriff Court.
Mr Guy graduated in law from Dundee in 2000. In 2006, he joined Anderson Strathern LLP and was made a partner there in 2013, specialising in commercial litigation, child law and health and safety.
Ms Michie graduated in 1997. She is currently an assistant procurator fiscal for Lothian & Borders and is also a tutor in criminal court practice at Edinburgh University.
The judicial office of summary sheriff was created to deal with some types of civil and criminal cases in the sheriff court.
