UK's human rights judge post to come up in new year
In early 2024, the UK will begin taking applications for appointment as the next UK judge of the European Court of Human Rights.
The successful applicant will work alongside 45 other independent national judges in Strasbourg on significant human rights cases at the highest level, from all member states of the Council of Europe, as can be seen from the court's website echr.coe.int.
The next UK judge will be elected for a non-renewable term of nine years starting in September 2025.
